Preparing to welcome your baby into the world is one of the biggest journeys you’ll ever take and like any great adventure, it helps to feel informed, supported, and confident along the way.

HollyBlue Antenatal courses are designed to do exactly that: guide you through every stage of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood in a relaxed, friendly environment where no question is too small (and there are always a few laughs along the way!).

Whether you’re a first-time parent or adding to your family, here’s what you can expect to learn and experience over our 12 hours face to face sessions.

Understanding Birth: From Spontaneous Labour to Caesarean Birth

Every birth is unique, some are spontaneous others are induced or due to lots of reasons a woman may have a caesarean birth planned. In my courses you have the opportunity to discuss all of these. We’ll talk through:

  • Spontaneous (natural) birth – what happens as your body goes into labour, how to recognise the signs, and ways to stay calm and in control.

  • Induction of labour – why it might be offered, what to expect, and how to make informed choices.

  • Caesarean birth – planned or unplanned, we’ll explore what happens during the operation, who is in the room and how recovery may look.

By understanding all your options, you’ll feel more confident and empowered ready for whichever direction your birth journey takes.

The First 24 Hours and Early Baby Care

Those first magical hours with your baby can feel like a whirlwind. In the course I gently guide you through what’s normal in the first day from your baby’s first feed and skin-to-skin contact to nappy changes, sleep patterns, and what to expect from your own recovery.

You’ll leave knowing the practical basics of baby care and how to tune into your instincts with confidence.

Feeding Information and Support

Feeding your baby, whether you choose breast, bottle or both is a huge part of early parenthood. The course provides free feeding videos that you can watch at home, at your own pace. They cover everything from getting started with breastfeeding and bottle feeding to recognising hunger cues and knowing when to ask for extra help.

You’ll have ongoing access to this information, so you can revisit it whenever you need a refresher.

Postnatal Changes and Self-Care

Your body and emotions go through big shifts after birth, and understanding these changes can make a real difference. We’ll talk honestly about physical recovery, sleep, and the emotional rollercoaster that can come with new parenthood.

This is a safe, supportive space to share, learn, and normalise what’s often left unsaid.

Meet-Ups After Baby Arrives

The learning and support don’t stop when your baby is born. Once your little one is here, we’ll meet up again to reconnect, share stories, and celebrate how far you’ve come. These sessions are lovely to meet up with the others in your group.

A Relaxed, Friendly Space — With Partners Welcome!

HollyBlue Antenatal courses are designed to be relaxed, welcoming, interactive and informative. Expect a few giggles, plenty of encouragement, and a down-to-earth approach. Partners are encouraged to come along, after all, they’re part of the journey too! You’ll both leave feeling better equipped, more connected, and more confident.
